We have moved
into our new space at
Amazing Place!
Amazing Place Board member, Julie de la Torre, describes it beautifully: "Amazing Place has many comforting accommodations such as a safe
drop-off/pick up area; a large greeting area to welcome the participants each day; a well-equipped game room; an activity area and a quiet, beautiful chapel with a library. Also there is a kitchen run by a wonderful cook who prepares lunch each day; a wellness suite, and a beauty shop/barber shop for both men and women. On the second floor there is a dedicated area for families of the participants with useful information and educational activities, or the families can have the comfort of just sitting and chatting."
We would like to thank our Board of Directors, the Building for Generations Campaign Committee and the Houston community for helping us realize our dream of having a facility that can serve many more individuals with early to moderate memory loss.

Ribbon Cutting and Building Dedication
Mike Robson, Facilities Chair, Tracey Brown, Executive Director, Vicki Keiser, former Amazing Place President, Tres Cochran, Building for Generations Campaign Chair, and Greg Funderburk, Board President
On May 6th, 2010, Amazing Place hosted a wonderful celebration, with an official City Proclamation declaring May 6, 2010 Amazing Place Day. There were over 250 guests in attendance to see the extraordinary new, state-of-the-art facility!
Greg Funderburk, Amazing Place Board President, kicked off the event by welcoming our guests and graciously thanking the community for their generosity and support of Amazing Place. Founder, Rev. Dean Robinson, gave a beautiful invocation and honored our new facility. We were so honored to have several keynote speakers the day of the event: Richard Elbein, CEO of the Greater Houston and Southeast Texas Alzheimer’s Association, The Honorable Judge Ed Emmett, who presented Amazing Place with a County Proclamation; followed by Jay Guerrero, Regional Director from U.S. Senator John Cornyn’s office, who offered gracious words about the mission and work taking place in our organization. Next, Amazing Place was presented with a Mayoral Proclamation by City Council member Jolanda Jones, declaring May 6th as Amazing Place Day! The Salvation Army Harbor Lights Choir entertained the guests during our truly wonderful celebration.
We want to thank the Amazing Place Board of Directors, the Building for Generations Campaign Committee and the Houston community for making Amazing Place a dream come true!
