Congregations

Keeping the Faith

Amazing Place is governed by 16 churches plus five At-large members from across the Houston area. Grounded in faith and connected by community, we welcome and serve all faiths and cultures. Spirituality is manifested in everything we do through kindness, respect and tolerance honoring all. We collaborate with congregations in a variety of ways.
FAITH CARE CONNECTION

Partnering to Help Those Living Alone and at Risk

27% of those with Dementia live alone. Our team partners with churches to identify congregants who might be at risk, and those caring for someone with cognitive changes. These individuals are then connected with needed resources and next-step advice to improve overall quality of life.
DEMENTIA TRAINING

Guiding Church Leaders

Faith leaders are often first responders in identifying and helping those with cognitive issues, and we are blessed to work with all religions in creating dementia-friendly congregant environments. We provide free presentations and trainings on dementia, how to recognize behaviors related to cognitive loss and ensure that small things like a friendly greeting or inviting lighting welcomes parishioners to their services. CUSTOMIZED PARISHIONER PROGRAMS

Customizing for Your Congregation

We frequently partner with congregations and their Seniors ministry programs on customized programs related to dementia, memory preservation and the aging journey. These can be one-time initiatives or framed as a series to be offered in-person or virtually, or in English or Spanish. For more information email Lauren Bradley: lbradley@amazingplacehouston.org

Congregations: In their own voice

Susan D., Seniors Ministry Director 2

As we age, staying healthy in mind, body and spirit is a perpetual challenge. Amazing Place classes addressing brain health are particularly important for the seniors in our congregation who want to be proactive.

Rev. Alex L, Pastor

Amazing Place has worked with our church to identify those in need, meet with them and develop a holistic approach to improving the quality of their life. This is a tangible approach that works.
