Making Meaningful Connections

Our vision here at Amazing Place, ending the stigma of dementia, extends beyond our four walls. To truly end the stigma, we must reach out to, and connect with, everyone impacted by dementia. After all, dementia affects more than those diagnosed. It affects caregivers, friends, congregations, health professionals, and others who are curious about preventing or delaying the symptoms of dementia. Through our various Connections, we want to provide an avenue for everyone to receive the education and support they need.

We offer some Amazing Place Connections at our Drexel location, and many throughout the city of Houston at various churches, offices, community centers, and more. Our Community Education Connections consist of opportunities to learn effective memory-enhancing techniques and presentations that promote brain-healthy lifestyles. Our Family Caregiver Support Connections literally connect those impacted by dementia with other individuals who can provide needed support and guidance.

So no matter how dementia is impacting you, Amazing Place has a Connections program designed specifically for your needs. Meet people who can help you along your journey, gain resources, learn strategies, and get answers – and in the process, help end the stigma of dementia.

For more information on any Amazing Place Connections program, please contact our Connections Director, Sally Davis, RN MSN at sdavis@amazingplacehouston.org.
