UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA

Amazing Place shares vital clinical training services with the medical community by partnering with both local universities and home care providers to educate clinicians on the care of older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. We feel this is of vital importance to the well-being of this escalating population.

Our 90-minute virtual training is designed to equip home care assistants with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively care for individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias in the home setting. We will address the most common challenges that arise with dementia care including how to manage communication and behavioral challenges. Learning and practicing these skills will result in improved care outcomes for everyone involved.

Amazing Place is also a clinical training site for a variety of health care students throughout the year. The goals of the clinical training site are to assist in the professional development of the healthcare student, expose them to adults who are impacted by dementia, and empower them to reduce the stigma of dementia.
