Start the Conversation Over Coffee

This program is temporarily postponed.

Those with early stage dementia and their caregivers jointly attend a casual, social program for conversation, coffee and activities on select Saturdays of every month. This get-together is an excellent conversation starter for those experiencing dementia for the first time.

For Memory Café Houston (2nd Saturday of each month) or Memory Café West (3rd Saturday of each month), please email eunverzagt@amazingplacehouston.org.

In conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Memory Café provides an informal café-like setting for adults with early-stage memory loss and their family caregivers to enjoy socializing and making new friends. This monthly meeting is a fun and comfortable way for those with early-stage memory loss to attend a social event and become connected with other people from the community.

The Memory Café is not appropriate for those with specific personal care needs such as:

  • Problems with continence
  • High levels of anxiety
  • Challenging behavior
  • Medical conditions that require monitoring

Not at all…Care partners can include spouses, children, friends, and professional caregivers.

Information about dementia is available for those who seek it, but the Memory Café is designed to provide a break from focusing on dementia and memory loss.

Know there are others out there also facing the same challenges of dementia. Meet with our support groups.
